RBS offers advice to new businesses
16/02/2007
New businesses, or individuals considering setting up new firms, can access information and advice at the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS), according to a leading figure at the firm.
Practical advice can be issued at the local branches due to the staff's knowledge of local communities, Steve Richards, head of business marketing at RBS, states.
His comments come almost two weeks after HSBC launched its Start Up Stars competition for the seventh consecutive year - a contest to find a new generation of young people with entrepreneurial spirit.
"At [RBS] we concentrate on local relationship management. The guys in the local community understand the local business challenges and also understand the dynamics for a business," said Mr Richards.
Business managers at RBS can also give potential new business owners "a feel" for how successful their entrepreneurial activity can be and how realistic they are being, he adds.
Moreover, information on competition in the area and the cover that businesses can receive will also be available, Mr Richards concludes.
