Portman explains her new loan role

Star Wars actress Natalie Portman is involved in a new loans scheme, which aims to help poor people launch their own businesses.
Speaking on US television show This Week, Portman explained her role working for global loans group Finca International.
The company offers small loans to impoverished people within developing countries and Portman has been endorsing the service, the Associated Press reports.
"Getting this loan enables them to start their own business out of their own house and be with their children. It changes the whole system," Portman expressed.
"If a woman can't tell her child, 'I can feed you tomorrow, I can pay for your school', then what happens? What do they do? What do they choose?"
The project aims to provide banking services for the poorest of the poor, she added.
