Low-interest business loan 'helps start youngster's career'
21/03/2007
The recently named young entrepreneur of the year in Scotland has proved his teachers wrong by becoming successful in business, it has emerged.
Stuart Ebdy established his own online print company with the help of a low-interest business loan from the Prince's Scottish Youth Business Trust (PSYBT), reports the Daily Record.
The organisation also helped Mr Ebdy set out his business targets, aims and objectives, as well as putting him in touch with a number of useful clients and contacts.
Prior to getting his business loan and getting the firm up and running, the young entrepreneur tried university but it did not suit him.
"I always knew from a very young age that I wanted to run my own business and I literally couldn't wait to get started," he told the newspaper.
"[With] my teachers' comments ringing in my ears, I duly enrolled on a university course in entrepreneurship to secure that all-important degree."
However, he left university early with a belief in his business ability.
