FSB: It's easy to start a business in the UK
26/04/2007
The UK has the easiest regime in the world in which to establish a company, a business expert suggests.
According to Stephen Alambritis, spokesperson for the Federation of Small Businesses (FSB), you can technically register a firm within a day in the UK.
There is currently "a real zeal force setting up in business" as an increasing number of people decide to borrow money to kick-start their organisations, Mr Alambritis states.
"Irrespective of the economic climate, we find on average, 450,000 people decide to go to loan each year," he said.
"Obviously, over the last years, we've seen that top 500,000 people each year going to loan … financially, economically, it's more viable now."
He cites comfortable interest rates and inflation, as well as access to premises, as factors making it easier to start new ventures.
