Bupa 'helps employers meet challenges'
08/03/2007

The three common challenges that businesses want to address are increasing motivation, reducing absence and further legislative compliance, it is suggested.

As a consequence, Bupa, the organisation behind the research, is creating a team of account managers to work with key intermediaries in order to meet the needs of the UK's employers.

By doing this, Bupa indicates that it can help intermediaries and employer clients understand the breadth of its workplace health services.

The health group highlights the success of its realigned approach at Glasgow City Council, where its Maximising Attendance programme has saved the local authority £4.5 million.

Steve Flanagan, Bupa Health Insurance's commercial director, remarked: "The government is very clear about the value that work can play in keeping people healthy."

Intermediaries have a key role to play in delivering "a real and tangible return on investment" in employer and employee workplace health, he added.
